[Hey, Badfic, there's a kitty face on screen. Said kitty is nuzzling and licking at the camera.]
Chloe, what are you doing~?
[There's a rustling before the kitten is picked up, Mary's smiling face appearing a moment after.]
I guess someone's feeling better.
Does anyone want anything to eat? I was going to make something for Chloe and myself, so if anyone wants something, feel free to come to the kitchen.

Mmm, well, when you're still a sidekick an you think up badass plans like that you never do till you're stuck in a dumpster waitin' for backup.
[His gaze flickers to her uncomfortably, his eye softening.] Ah...sorry bout your loss.

Or tied to a chair with a knife in your face...but yeah. Either way. [Wasn't her best night, but daddy looked like a damn knight in shining armor when he busted in. A pissed one, but still.]
It was a long time ago, but thank you.

Mmmhm, I feel ya. Learned a lesson the shitty way. [Lucky her. Dave forgot him in the dumpster and went home for about three hours before he remembered his precious baby brother.] Ain't that a bitch.
[He makes an acknowledging grunt and nods. He wants to say, funny thing about time, the clock's outta batteries, the hands, stuck, but that's too close to his own broken clock. So all he can do is pat her on the shoulder.]

I learned most that way. Most of my scars you can't really see now, but they're there if you look close enough. [Standing, she lifted her her shirt, but kept the important bits covered. There was a small patch of slightly discolored skin on her side.] I think my scratch is one of the most notable. I got lucky, and closer to it and I'd have been dead before mom could call 911.

[And then, as if she hadn't floored him enough, suddenly her top is yanked modestly up, exposing creamy skin eyes far as the eye can see, and a scar that had seen quite the battle. His eye widens, anger briefly tops off the glass of Nails, anger rightly in the past, and he sucks in a hiss through his teeth] Fuuuuck...'m glad you were quick on the draw, then. Lesson learned fast enough for them claws to sink in.
[He bites his lip, fingers closing around the strings of his eyepatch, thoughtfully, nervously] I guess since I've seen yours it'd only be fuckin' fair to show ya mine, eh?

It was pure luck...I was stupid and got too close. Dad gave it a headshot and dropped it before it could go for a second try. Mom kept pressure on it until dad could cauterize it. [She shivered a little at the memory.] Hospitals weren't really our things. Not unless there were no other options.
[She let her shirt drop as he fingered the patch. She couldn't deny she was curious, but...] Only if you're comfortable with it.
