Page 4: Reap what you sow [Accidental Video]

[At first the feed displays only a gray colored panel. There is a light "fluff" noise, that sounds as though somebody has just flung the comforter off the bed which in fact, happens to be the case exactly.]

...What the hell? Oh- OH WHAT THE-?!

[There is a string of angry footsteps that become progressively louder. The sound of drawers being slammed open can be heard. Scuttling noises accompany them as fingers frantically grab at their contents. But all this is much less interesting than what is being displayed on the feed for a whirl of pink and white cotton comes into focus, replacing the monochromaticity of the gray ceiling. Light Yagami's face cannot be seen, save for an single instant in which he turns his head to look directly at the blinking light of the Blackberry.]

You've got to be kid-

[He stretches his hand out and the feed cuts.]

[Light checks through the peephole to confirm the identity of his guest. He quietly opens the door for her, keeping his body out of sight from the hallway. Once she enters the room, he quickly shuts the door and sighs, trying to pretend he was not in fact a boy in a...thing.]

The zipper appears... well, it would be best if you saw for yourself.

[Aoko just gives him a look-but she's not acting like it's a big deal and quickly moving behind him so she can pull the zipper down]

I'm a girl Yagami-kun, I know how zippers can be on a dress.

I wasn't trying to insinu- [Light stops mid protest as Aoko forcefully tugs on the zipper, which to his immense relief finally comes loose.... though she may have tugged a little too enthusiastically as the ruffly sleeves were now practically sliding down his shoulders. A good amount of his back is also exposed. ...Awkward.]

[Aoko squeaks and jumps back, stumbling a bit and smacking into the door-her face is also a lovely sade of tomato red]

[For some reason Light can't exactly pinpoint, he's amused by this reaction. Have backs like breasts become sexualized while I was apparently living in a cave? Clutching the material to himself to prevent anymore slip ups-more for Aoko's sake than his own it seemed- he speaks casually.]

Are you alright? That collision didn't sound very pleasant. Ah, I will get dressed now.
[He adds hastily.]

[She just nods-keeping her eyes on the floor-that is some interesting carpet you have there, Yagami-kun.]

[Light half smiles as he changes into a more comfortable clothing. He considers the possibility of torching the dress, but decides its fate will be decided once Aoko is no longer present. He steps back into the main area, amused to see that Aoko is still staring at the floor.]

...Is the solution to Schrodinger's cat hidden in the carpet, Aoko-san?

[Aoko's attention is caught and she looks up at him, blinking innocently-a bit of red still in her cheeks]

Schrodinger's Cat. It's a thought experiment in which a being can simultaneously be dead and alive. You seemed to be studying the floor rather intently, so I couldn't help but wonder if... never mind.

[Light smiles. He didn't really expect Nakamori to know what Schrodinger's Cat was; it was a test. One that she failed, but then again, most did.]

Still, I'm very grateful. I'm afraid there isn't very much I can offer you, besides tea but... would you like any?

[Aoko looks puzzled there for a moment. What was it with people and thinking they owed someone something if someone did them a favor?]

You don't have to offer me anything-but tea would be nice.

Then tea it is.

[He smiles and moves to the kitchenette where he fills the electric kettle up with water and plugs it into the outlet. When he's sure Aoko cannot see him, he massages his jaw quickly. All the smiling was beginning to hurt.]

Would you prefer black tea, lemon tea or green tea, Aoko-san?

Lemon tea, please. [She did like green tea-but she mainly only drank that when she was upset about something.]

[His tone is artificially cheerful.]

No, not at all Aoko-san. Please, sit back and relax. You are a guest, after all. Besides, there isn't much to help with. The water is boiling and all I need to do is pour it into a cup.

[Light carefully pours the water into two matching blue cups. He adds a packet of lemon tea to the first, and adds green tea leaves to the second. Placing both cups on a tray, he walks back into the room where Aoko is waiting, setting the tray down on a small coffee table.]

It seems to be the case with a lot of people. Do you not enjoy being pampered, Aoko-san?

I um- [but... she can't really think of the last time she was pampered. Kaito and Hakuba would occasionally due something nice and Yoh took care of her when she was sick once-did that count?]

That only happens when I'm sick-a-and don't really like sitting around doing nothing.

[Light picks up his cup, and blows over the surface. It was still much too hot to drink, but the warmth in his hands felt pleasant.]

I don't need it. That's why. And everyone's so busy with the Kid case anyway I just sort of become like background noise-I guess. See, My dad is head of the Kaitou Kid task force, and Hakuba-kun works with the sometimes-mostly though he lives in London. Kaito is a fan of Kid but he usually works at Jii-san's now. Plus, everyone at school is so caught up in following Kaitou Kid and going to heists that it's really just kind of annoying.

[Light frowns slightly as he digests that rather large bulk of information. Kaito..? That snowball kid? Why am I not surprised he's a fan of some vigilante-grand larcenist? And of course Hakuba again. Failing, I'm glad to hear. ..And just how many people here have parents connected to the police?!]

Given situations like that, I can see why you'd be forced to become independent. I can sympathize. My father is the Chief of Police in my world. I'm curious though, is this Kaitou Kid in anyway related to Kaito?
