[Mello nods, time to focus on the future, the L-free future. There was no time to feel sorry for themselves. All was not lost as long as he and Matt were there, all was not lost. Mello gives Matt a weak smile, he wouldn't lose the redhead again, he silently promised himself, God, and the fucking Author that. She would have to destroy him to get at Matt.

Now it was time to save the Manor.]

I guarantee by the end of the week all the punishments will end. I'll get my gun back, but everyone else disarmed by the justice system will get their weapons back too.

[Pause, and something worse]

And their mother-fucking powers. Dammit.

We need to up surveillance on them immediately. If any of them start doing something, anything, out of the ordinary we have to act fast.

Yeah, you're gonna have to get off your ass and do something.

Good. We should make note of who we need to watch and what to look for. As far as I can tell there isn't any conspiracy although...

[Although he doesn't like John Dillinger's actions. He might be planning something.]

[He's distracting himself from L's disappearance, but it still hurts. His heart still stings as it beats in his chest, clocking time he knows that he doesn't really have.]
