[ Another pause, this one longer. ]

i mean i don't feel unsafe. maybe it's because things look so familiar. maybe i'm about to wake up! .... right?

[ And after a final, hanging pause, she places the blackberry back on the bed, accidentally pressing its keys in passing: ]

Well, excuse me for being scared! Anybody normal would act like they were seven if they woke up somewhere like this all of a sudden.

[ Pouting aside, her eyes get a little rounder when she sees the sandwich. ]

I guess I am little hungry now that you're not... well, a creeper or anything. Light told me not to leave my room, though, and I wouldn't know my way around yet.

[ Sayu shrugs. ]

So what's the full story?

[Oh got what? She's pouting?! Crap! WHY?! Damn girls being all confusing and... all... girly? Cue some FLAIL. DAMN why was being nice to people always so hard?!]

Ah hey, i-it was just the stuffed animal comment! I dunno I just thought it was a kid! I-I suck with kids anyway... and girls too I guess...

[ She hugs it, tapping her chin. ] Food. Food food food. Hm. Well, I really like shio ramen and fried fish, but I'm not a picky eater. [ She laughs. ] I could eat just about anything right now! What else are you into -- aside from sandwiches?

It's probably something for you. People typically wake up in their own rooms here... My room had a lot of the magazines and stuff I used to read back home. Um I'll explain it all more when I bring over your food. It's kind of tough to swallow... a shit that came out as a horrible pun...

[Hayato disappears off screen for a second and there's some rustling]

I think there's ramen here... it's the instant junk though.

[He pops back on the screen with a little package of instant ramen]

This alright? Not the best stuff ever, but I'm not sure I can cook much else.

[He takes the black berry as he goes to fill a pot up with some water]

What do I like? Hmm... well I don't eat a lot... my stomach acts up a lot... but... I like connoli, mannacotti, and sasshimi... someone I knew back home had a dad that ran a sushi shop.

Are you kidding? That looks delicious! [ Manners. ] I mean -- thank you so much! You don't have to go through the trouble of bringing it over. I can come get it if you want. I'm in room 48. How do you get to the kitchen from here? A quick walk can't be that dangerous....

[ She swings her feet as they talk, perched on the edge of the bed. ]

Are those pastas?

Mannacotti is like.. um lasagna, only with pasta shells. Connoli is a little pastry. My mother used to bring them to me when I was a kid...

[He looks off for a moment, thinking about his mother, but quickly shakes his head back to it's senses. He looks at the ramen and kind of chuckles]

Hey, I know it sucks, but it's probably the best food I can cook.

[Hayato thinks about her request... well she should probably get to know the manor... but it wasn't safe alone...]

Well, I got a few minutes before the water boils... I could come up and get you?

Yeah, sure! [ Light won't mind if she's with someone, right? Totally. Except -- ] Um, were there... extra clothes in your room when you got here? [ A blush creeps up her cheeks and she tries to brush it off with a little laugh. ] I'm still wearing pajamas. It feels kind of weird to go outside wearing them.

[ Hayato chuckles]

Yeah should be in your closet or dresser or whatever you have in your room. Check, if it's not I can grab you something from my room until you can find some girl clothes. I'm in the hallways now. You said room 48 right? That's only a few doors down from my room.

[ Sayu brightens when he mentions he lives nearby, momentarily goes off-screen and rummages through drawers. ]

Oh, great! I'll come out in a second then. [ Mutters -- ] Wow, this stuff's really similar to what I usually wear....

[ -- and comes back on-screen, grinning. ]

[It doesn't take long for the little Italian to make his way over to Sayu's room and is about to knock on the door... when he realized he is not dealing with the typical manorite. She is one of the bizarre female creatures he could never seem to understand for the LIFE of him. He had best look nice. So after a quick fix of his hair and a brief smoothing out of his clothes, he knocks on the door feeling confident he looks his coolest.]

Sayu-chan? You ready?

Uh, I usually follow things in Italy... I didn't pick up Japanese until a few years ago... so I still follow things back home more...

The best way I can summarize it, is some sort of mass inter-dimensional kidknapping. Which is why there are some real freaks wandering around. Not everyone here is exactly an upstanding member of society if you know what I mean.

[ Sayu dips the ladle back into the pot. ]

...well... I... I lost my appetite.[Hayato nervously rubs the back of his neck smiling awkwardly]

[How is he supposed to say that they're basically just playthings for this sadistic bitch? She looked like she was a pretty normal girl (well, as normal as girls can be...)]

[He takes a deep breath. She would find out sooner or later... better sooner so she could prepare]

She's bored and uses us as entertainment...

[ A beat passes before she lets the ladle drop into the pot with a clang. ]

[ Sayu sets down her bowl on the table with one hand, slides a chair out from under it with the other, settles in. Stews, if you'll pardon the pun. Between large, dainty noodle slurps: ]
