i don't know what's going on. i'm scared. are you here, light? it looks like i'm in your room but -- you don't have a stuffed animal like this, do you? (i wouldn't let you live it down if you did!)

i found this cell phone next to it. am i dreaming? but everything feels too solid. right? i can't

[ Another pause, this one longer. ]

i mean i don't feel unsafe. maybe it's because things look so familiar. maybe i'm about to wake up! .... right?

[ And after a final, hanging pause, she places the blackberry back on the bed, accidentally pressing its keys in passing: ]

Thanks, Conan. I'm Sayu Yagami. [ Mutters, almost to herself: ] You're awfully tech savvy for a little kid....

[ As she reads the document, her eyes widen at all the right places; brows furrow when she skims the premise, relax when she sees the rules. She giggles a little when she gets to the directory. ]

Light would be on the welcoming committee. [ Turning her attention back to the video feed: ] What do you do, Conan?

Yagami? ... [related to Light? Makes sense- she did ask for him in her text entry- clearly younger than him and on familiar enough terms to tease- sister?]

...By any chance, are you Light-niichan's little sister?

-Oh, I'm a detective! I help Shinichi-niichan out with a lot of stuff around the manor so he's been teaching me how to use the black berries.

Yeah, I am! His hair throws people off sometimes. So you've met?

[ .... Back up a second. Detective? ]

Wow.... I thought Light was a genius, but you must be really be something if you're a detective already! Is Shinichi your brother?

Mmhm! He lives down the hall from me so I talk to him sometimes.

Nah, I'm only distantly related to Shinichi-niichan- but he's a famous high school detective so I learn everything from him.

Really? I've never heard of a Detective Shinichi.... Are he and Light friends? He would've talked about Shinichi a lot back [ a little pause; a drop in pitch ] home, if Light had known who he was.

We're not from the same place- so you probably wouldn't have heard of him... They talk to each other here though, but that's all I can really say.

But aren't you from Japan, too?

[ No mention of parallel worlds in the memo.

Sayu breaks into a dangerous smile a few seconds later, says: ]

Well, yes, but not necessarily the same Japan-- Say, have you ever heard of the mutiverse theory?

[ Hey, didn't he just avoi -- wait, multiverses? ]

Mm! It's the theory that when you make a choice you create a new, alternate universe in which you make a different choice than in the original universe.

But how does that -- there would be so many universes! How's that possible? How can you actually know? [ Woah, wait a second -- ] D-did we just create another universe by having this conversation?!

Most likely.

That's just the theory-- but a lot of people here aren't from the same universe- so I'd say the theory is right.
