[Video] If you don't like the rules, change the game.
[The feed kicks on for the second time in two days - and the Blackberry is very obviously situated on one of the tables in the study, giving a good view of him sitting in one of the chairs facing the door. The bookcases might be shifted a little to make access to the air vents difficult, but besides a slight air of annoyance, he's behaving perfectly calm and controlled.]
Apparently there is a new arrival that's taken an interest in me - Belphegor, I believe your name was?
My name is Saguru Hakuba, and if you've gotten curious, then it's probably better to clarify things rather than fish around blindly, isn't it? After all, we are both outside of what would be our respective territories at this time.

He's damned sure that's what he's hearing and with a little flick of his hair he begins to giggle. The giggle is what the feed starts up with.]]
Ahh~ the man of Nakamori-chan's dreams. How nice of you to extend your hand in wanting to meet me. I think you have need to get your facts in order Signor Hakuba- so many Japanese names- I've no interest in any information on you.
[[He has what he wants.]]
Then I take it your interest is a little more direct?
I'd think someone of your status would be more than capable of minding an unfamiliar playing field with unknown rules.
Ushishishi~♫ You're mistaken on your use of the word 'interest'. Though, I could say the same for you, Detective. You're just as planted on an unknown field as I.
[[From the look of it an inclosed area. Gokudera and he went head on in a setting like that and Belphegor isn't going to be stumped twice if the Bomber is there.]]
The only advantage you have is knowing where it is on the map you are, shall I knock on each door until I find someone familiar to help get me there?
It's the parlor. First floor, second door on the left from the front door.
It's certainly far enough out of any jurisdiction for the title of "detective" to be more decoration than fact, but it does help to have been here long enough to know how this place works...
Oh? You're not a detective then, Signor? One cannot deny what they are, once they become it. Going against your natures are a silly thing to do.
[[He smirks and descends what needs to be with no such speed, happy to take his own time. He's not going to rush into something that's possibly set up to take his Ring by that idiot. He puts his hand in his pocket and continues on his way.]]
Ah. There you are, I'm sure I'll be along shortly- make ready a seat for two hm~?
which is why things like his weapons are completely out of sight.]Well, I can't deny that aspect - I do still get recognized as such here, although, well, the exact "duties of office" are rather different.
[And he just ~smiles~ like this shouldn't bother him in the slightest.] Ah, of course, there's another chair open as soon as you arrive.
For some of us, perhaps. Not us all.
[[He clicks off the feed after being informed. He runs his hand along the wall, seeming to play fingers daintily off of it for anyone else's eyes to see it looks as though he's simply walking fingers or presses of his hand along. Playing until he gets to have the chance to touch the door handle. That's where his trap wire is set and he opens the door, already making use of that hand in his pocket, readying it for an attack.]]
You're taller than I thought you would be.
[[He closes the door, tightening the razor wires in the hallway and keeping them at his reach to find out if anyone walks into them with force outside this door. He's taking no chances.]]
[In Person]
[Far from an attack, he just nods and gestures in greeting with one hand, still perfectly calm.]
Well, expectations can be quite deceiving. I'd assume you'd be expecting me to be hostile on principle, for one.
[Oh he's certainly watching, and has noted the hand he can't see that doubtless has a weapon, as much as his posture's quite relaxed.]
[In Person]
No, the police and their derived states are mostly useless and know their place.
[[He adjusts his crown, in reality adjusting the angle of his wire before relaxing again in the chair, his hand coming out of said pocket seemingly empty.]]
I've heard so many nice things about you from such a pretty lady.
[In Person]
[And he's used to staring down serial killers alone. So no, no, there won't be any sign of budging on that confidence.]
I'll have to relay your compliment to Aoko. [Oooh, this is a ~special~ one isn't he? He's already watching the "seemingly empty" hands for weapons ... and the signs of faint indents on his fingers.]
[Visible reaction? Of course not. After all, his left hand was totally empty, right?]
I do find that many of the police ... well, they're hardly equipped to deal with anyone too clever - if they were, I'd be out of work.
The nature of things here does tend to complicate things further, of course.
[In Person]
At least we agree.
[[He flicks his head to the side, its almost as if he's trying to move his hair from his eyes, but it instantly falls back in place, his crown staying nicely put on his head.]]
The nature of things here? You mean all of us as kidnap victims?
[In Person]
Nevermind the ... scenery changes I'm sure you're aware of by now.
[He's not shifting the leisurely, calm posture, but he is watching - he knows there's a concealed weapon, and thin indents like that would probably be wires - he's not going to make any assumptions about what kind of weapon he's up against or if Bel would have to be close to do something.]
[In Person]
Oh this is fun.]]
What's so important about the pieces? The game itself is the entertainment- who cares if a few are switched out or for that matter ..Mmm.. Lost? Now. Did you call me here because you expected me to go in guns blazing? Or is it to spring into action with whatever you're hiding there? The bomber is much too loud, he'd have already come out- so it's got to be just you.
[In Person]
When the pieces come from entirely different worlds and different games? It rewrites the game a bit.
[And the smile goes a leeeedle less calm and nonchalantly smug and a leeeedle more pointy - not that he's going to move to SHOW you what's in his hand...] Well now, that's assuming I was looking for a fight, now isn't it? I'm not going to be so stupid as to assume you'd be acting on goodwill and reason, but considering this place's penchant for providing outside enemies, I tend to find it a little pointless to start ... internal conflicts with other residents.
Unless of course, you're in that much of a hurry for a fight.
I do confess that I only know of your "Bomber" secondhand, and I don't call on unknown quantities for backup.
[In Person]
Only to those who haven't mastered the game.
[[He flicks his hair a little bit setting some even behind his ear enough to get it into a place he feels comfortable with. Let the man think what he wants about the movement. This one was at least innocent. ..Mostly.]]
I'm never in a hurry for anything, in fact, I like to take my time more specifically.
[[That's right. It may not be today, tomorrow or next week. But the bit next about Gokudera. Now that maybe he could work to his betterment.]]
You're lucky then, you're a smart man I can tell.
[[He leans forward, letting the slack out on his wires just for a moment, both hands linking under his chin in order to hold his regal head upward.]]
You see, Hayato Gokudera is from a monstrous family that even my own Family struggled against. He himself is the right-hand man of his 'Boss'. I hold no illusion you think I'm a good boy~ I'm far from it. But if I'm as horrible as a mind can imagine-- what about him?
[[Bel leans back, no, this isn't the right time to strike. He's not got the upper hand and he's not sure what the other has. It'd be a pity not to be able to slaughter any man who thought they'd take the glory of killing Gokudera away from him.]]
I'm only giving you this information because you seem like you could use a leg up if you already have outside and inside enemies. Ask him if you don't believe me, he'll openly admit he's bested me some how that currently I'm unaware of and don't recall. Then again, those types always do find a way to brag about themselves.
[In Person]
They do say patience is a virtue.
[He's certainly bemusedly listening to the rather noticeable attempt at a bid for an alliance - Or at least turning Saguru against his enemies... what little he does know of Gokudera is that the boy managed to deal with Heiji without setting off any alarms on Hattori - and Heiji's radar didn't seem THAT broken...and the flailing attempts at warning people about Bel which seem quite legitimate.]
[And even if Gokudera's less than trustworthy, he'd currently trust Bel about as far as he could kick Gin and live.]
Oh, any information is always appreciated - I find that it can be the most effective weapon of all, in many cases, and it does help to know where the troublesome sorts might be lurking; it means it's easier for myself and my associates to respond properly. Of course, I do plan on investigating this more thoroughly; it does always seem the more prudent option to be as informed as possible before acting.
[In Person]
He licks his bottom lip, contently biting his lip between both sets of teeth while chuckling softly. It slowly slips from his teeth before he begins to reply.]]
I don't really care if you do or don't look into it, what you do with what I've given you is ultimately your decision. My biggest curiosity is what you're hiding- I hate Christmas as much as any other holiday, surprises were never something I liked.
[In Person]
I imagine poker tables must be quite the trial. My question before any of that would be, do I have a reason to use it?
[In Person]
Ushishishi~♫.. Mister Detective, do I look like a man who would run head-long into an oncoming train once I know it's there?
[In Person]
[It didn't mean he was going to give any sign he WASN'T confident in his control of the situation.]
Oh, of course not. In fact, I'd gotten the impression from what Aoko had said of you that you had to be quite clever - nevermind that one doesn't hold the rank I'm sure you must by being foolish at all.
I would say that it's not entirely unfair of me to be disinclined to show my hand when you're keeping yours close to yourself as well...
But honestly, with us in the same small box in the same situation, I'd rather have any demonstrations be on outside threats - what do you think?
[In Person]
He looks at his own hand through his hair, unbeknownst to his opponent considering all his hair, aha, he had noticed perhaps?]]
Actually.. I think, Mister Detective, I thrive here in things like this. So shall we cut to the chase- hmmn? Your question isn't if I'm going to be attacking you now- it's 'are you going to be attacking me at all, Bel?'. Don't waste my time on riddles and double entendre, I've almost got what I want to prove what I had to.
[[He flicks his wrist forward when he moves his arm off his head and that breaks the ropes from their place and the lines return to their slack, putting his hands together in his lap momentarily. He'll be keeping those.]]
You weren't anything but a point to prove, Signor Detective. I like you, though, so I may not even kill you in the end run. You're smart, no-- intelligent, refined and know when you've got to talk yourself out of something and just how to do it. You're much too precious a rare gem.
[In Person]
I do appreciate the compliment, but I confess - I have a suspicion as to the answer, but some things are always better clarified...
Your point - I imagine it's one of personal pride?
[In Person]
Bel laughs, it's amusing to hear someone ask it out-right. Because it's so obvious just as he stated.]]
MMmn, you could say that's hitting it on the head. Your young bride said I couldn't- no one says I can't. No one who isn't my boss and I don't see him here.
[In Person]
[There were quite a few dangerous people in the Manor - but this? This was adding another to the incredibly short list of people that were more in line with his usual targets... and damned if there wasn't some stupid part of his psyche that was perfectly happy for the actual challenge - he was good at diplomacy, he preferred bringing order and avoiding unneeded conflict, but he'd be lying if he said there wasn't an element of bored frustration without a challenge closer to what he'd raised himself to.]
I suppose I'll have to be watching my step then; I do have my own ideas about what I plan to be doing with myself, and I've never been good at the role of prey.
[In Person]
All targets always do, I've heard every excuse not to kill someone, there's rarely a new one. But you're misunderstanding me, Detective. You're different, when and if I decide to take your life if you're any as good as I think you are in wit then die knowing you weren't prey and a challenge instead.
[[The young, lithe man stands up, holding up both of his hands with his fingers spread. Meaning that (though its a lie) he's defenseless, he's sure that he's been made and thusly doesn't mind admitting he's been outed visually.]]
Ushishishi~♫
Is there anything else? Or can I go back to my other important tasks?
[In Person]
I do believe that will be all for now, yes.
[ Locked ]
[ Locked ]
[ Locked ]
Just-meet me in the library when you're done- just because this is locked, doesn't mean it can't be hacked.
[ Locked ]
First rule of dealing with predators, don't be prey, if you don't like the game, change the board. [He waves a hand; he rattles that off airily, obviously not going to expand on it.]
I'll see you after the meeting, then.
[ Locked ]
WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?! WHAT PART OF "DON'T TALK TO BELPHEGOR" DOESN'T PENETRATE YOU'RE THICK-ASS SKULL!?
[Saguru meet 'the bomber']
Well you see, I'd been meaning to follow that advice, but apparently my name reached him as a "person of interest"...
And I don't particularly feel like running and hiding and letting him get this funny idea that I'm prey.
Re: [video]
[Hayato leans back and runs a hand through his hair, exhaling a lungful of smoke from his nose, irritably as always.]
Give him a face and you're just his shiny new toy.
Mmm, possibly. Nothing I haven't dealt with before, and well ... I get the impression an association of mine who isn't used to dealing with people like him ...
Managed to annoy him in a way that he seems to have taken it as a challenge.
Re: [video]
[Hayato leans his head back and sighs]
What the hell is WRONG with that chick? You don't even need to talk to that knife-bastard for five fucking seconds for any retarded shit-head with half a brain to figure out he's crazy.
[He growls and hits his head back against the wall]
SHIT! I should have sent out a warning the moment I knew he was here...
[video||private]
As for your little friend there.... well, I suppose I'm lucky I've made my living dealing with crazy...
And you won't be able to control his actions, either - you may be his main target, but he's going to poke around, he's going to poke at people who might not think to follow your warnings or have much of a chance to avoid him, and he's going to get bored and look for things to get into.
Re: [video||private]
[Hayato scoffs, it was a stupid thing to do... but he found himself doing the exact same thing with Sayu... granted he at least assumed that she was smart enough to pick up on someone like Belphegor...]
He's not the type to go about harassing anyone he sees. But if someone brings you to his attention...
Listen, a normal person can't take on that shit-head. I don't care if you got a gun or whatever, it ain't gunna work. Even if you manage to hit him, if you get him to bleed he's gunna go a thousand different kinds of apeshit. Got it?
[video||private]
It's a good thing drawing blood isn't my first resort, then. [Yep, all the more reason for the smoke grenades.] I'll remember to avoid that.
Re: [video||private]
[Hayato shudders a bit, accompanied by something of a snarl. There were no words for his contempt for Bel. No words]
If he snaps, get out of there, and call me. I've kicked his ass before I can do it again. Besides, I know what he's capable of.
