Well, this seems to be a strange occurrence. I appear to have found myself far away from the hotel I fell asleep in.
I have to say: The technology is easy enough to figure out. Even though it is far more detailed and intriguing than I am accustomed to. I take
it this is some form of communication network.
Is there anyone out there that can give me answers? I promise I won’t take too much of your time.

I could be wrong, of course, but in my research there is nothing at all that says individuals without the mutated gene are capability of using what you call 'magic'.
*he is trying to sound completely respecting of her beliefs, but it's just so HARD when magic, as people commonly think of it, just doesn't exist*

You would do that for me?

When he finds the kitchen at last he pauses for a moment to watch her, stretching out his power just a little bit. She was focused entirely on the glass, symbols floating at the edge of her mind. He left it at that and waited, not wanting to disturb her*
[Action]
[There's a touch of almost barbed humor in her mind at that statement- she knows damn well what is going to happen.]
[Action]
I believe you that it works. I never doubted that.
*he holds it up to his eye without hesitation, facing her, and has to close it for a few seconds after his first glance because of how bright she was*
[Action]
[She's pulling out her blackberry and calling up Saguru because she needs an example of someone who has no ability to use magic.] Saguru? Could you spare a moment to come to the kitchen? I'll make it worth your while. [Because she's pretty sure that, at least in the Manor, Saguru could use something like that.]
[Action]
[Spots Tris, and Charles, and Chime, and is - now not sure what's going on or what he's been called on for.]
Charles - [He nods to the professor-] You wanted something, Tris?
[Action]
He's toying with the shot glass in his hand. He'd tried looking at Tris with it several more times out of fascination while waiting for Saguru, but his eyes couldn't handle the brightness for too long at a time*
[Action]
[Chime has decided she likes Saguru, and is going to fly over to land on him with her glass armonica purr going full bore.]
[Action]
[Action]
This is remarkable. *now that it wasn't blinding him* It's like the ability to see some kind of aura around a living creature.
[Action]
[Chime is positively gleeful, and chattering happily.] I'd say you were going to spoil her, Saguru, only everyone does.
[Action]
Just let me know if there's something I shouldn't.
[Action]
*he puts down the shot glass for now, having seen all he needed to for proof of what she's saying. He still isn't a firm believer of magic, but he can't explain this scientifically just yet. He very much wants to learn everything he can about this, but is smart enough to know that knowledge probably won't be easy to gain.*
[Action]
I will. [You know, there's quite a bit of the lessening of the constant prickling dislike of people when she talks to Saguru. Not because she likes him in that sense, but because she feels he truly does understand what she's going through.]
[Chime is going to look at the things Saguru is offering her and somehow manage a very sad-sounding trill. She can't carry all of it back to the room!]
[Action]
[He tries a sort of consoling head-pet; at this rate, Chime's going to sucker him into carrying it for her.]
[Action]
*he glances between the two of them, getting the sense of a mutual trust between them. It only reinforces his opinion of the detective, and helps him feel a bit better about Tris herself.*
[Action]
[YOU KNOW THE TINY DRAGON WILL. LOOK AT THOSE EYES. She's even making this completely pathetic noise... which just gets Tris to snort and cover her mouth. No, she doesn't smile openly, that'd mean she has some happiness other people could dick over.]
[Action]
[Action]
*he watches Tris out of the corner of his eye, a slight frown on his lips, trying to be subtle as he works out what he's seeing*
