Mary Winchester | 11 | [Action/Video]
[Mary was more than ready for a normal (or semi normal) day. Seeing that there was no need to worry for anyone here and the boys were enjoying themselves...she decided to actually go and enjoy herself for a change. Especially after the last plot, she was pleased to see that there was actual food here. After a day of shopping, dancing, and general sight seeing, she was ready to relax at a local pub for a bit. Setting up at a table out of the way, Mary was enjoying some chicken, bread pudding...and you guessed it. Beer. It may not have been a relaxing tea or white wine, but she could hold her own as far as alcohol went.
Raising her hand to get the bartenders attention, she motioned to her empty mug, her voice carrying over the noise in the pub.]
Another.
[Waiting on her beer, she was already planning what else she'd be doing...perhaps she'd just turn in and relax in her room after this. Well, that was the plan if nothing more interesting came along.
She still hadn't noticed the feed was on and even if she did...she probably wouldn't care. She was having fun for the first time in what felt like ages and she wouldn't let anyone ruin it for her.]

I know you didn't, it's just something that happens from time to time. There's nothing to worry about.
Mm. I am. I suppose that means you are as well...and since you didn't know that bit about the phones, it must mean that you haven't been there for long.
no subject
I haven't. Phones? I thought it was called a BlackBerry.
[That's what it says on it, after all.]
no subject
I was confused as well at first. It seems that Blackberry is a type of phone or something to that effect. I've heart it called both, but honestly...phone is less confusing for me.
no subject
...It's certainly not a fruit. That I'm sure of.
no subject
No...no it's not.
Okay, so...you're from somewhere without phones apparently?
It's just a device you use to talk with people over distances. Granted, the ones I'm used to aren't quite this advanced.
no subject
We send letters. But I've picked up that the Blackberry's...almost instantaneous?

[Although speaking of personal...] I think I forgot to introduce myself. My apologies. I'm Katherine.
[It'd be a little hard for Katherine to manage a full curtsey here in the bar, or in the clothing she's currently wearing, but Katherine gives it a try anyway.]

[They hadn't exactly developed video chat in her time period, even texting proved to be a little too odd for her to master. whiiich is why she just falls back to audio or video most of the time.
Bowing her head in greeting, she gives the girl a warm smile.]
It's a pleasure to meet you Katherine, my name's Mary. [Pushing her basket of food a little, she offered the girl some of her chicken.] Are you hungry?
no subject
A little. Nice to meet you, Mary.
Do you know where we are?
[It's not the biggest deal if she doesn't. Katherine's certain that this place is a lot more pleasant than the other non-manor place she was at last week.]
no subject
From what I can tell, Germany. I'm not too certain of the year, but this is the Oktoberfest festival...the best festival if you like alcohol.
[And right now, Mary LOVED alcohol. Tea was good, but after October? Tea wouldn't cut it.]
How long have you been at the manor? I don't recognize you.
no subject
Two weeks, or near enough. It's been a very...hectic time.
no subject
I'm sorry that you had to experience all of this. It's usually not so horrible; most of her plots turn out to be harmless.
no subject
[Katherine smiles brightly, although she'd still so much rather be home there's no need to be pessimistic about these things. And she had her beer now, so it wasn't all bad, certainly.]
I heard many of us are from different places...Where did you call home?
no subject
[It wasn't much, but after the hell, they all deserves something nice. What better that sugary goodness?
Smiling, she took a sip of her beer before answering.]
Earth. Or well...Kansas, if you want to get specific.
What about you, dear?
no subject
I'm the Duchess of Tremontaine. Back home.
[Katherine frowns.]
...I didn't have an heir named.
[Her uncle wouldn't be happy about this, as he'd rather explicitly given her the estate, not any of her older brothers, and he'd hate if it defaulted to them.]
no subject
[She didn't care that the girl was royalty. She'd have to learn that her title didn't really mean much in this place, everyone was equal and everyone had to pull their own weight at times. Almost no one would cater to her all the time.
Shaking her head, she rushed to calm Katherine.]
Don't worry about an heir. Time doesn't seem to move much if at all while you're gone. No one will even realize it, dear.
[It was a hard truth, but she had to know the truth sooner or later. No one knew she was gone and no one was looking for her.]
no subject
It smells much better in the manor than it did in Riverside. I'm glad to hear about the time, though.
[That was really the only reason the fact that she was 'royalty' had any relevance at all. She had an obligation not to let things that were supposed to be under her supervision fall apart, although certainly Marcus and Artemisia could manage well enough if they would only have to do so for a little while.]
no subject
I was so glad when I was told.
I was brought from...not the best of times. If I hadn't been told, I wouldn't have been able to relax. It makes sense that everyone here should know that they don't need to worry as well.
[Okay, so the beer was making her tongue a little loose. It didn't matter much though, there wasn't anything that this girl could do for better or worse about the incident.]
no subject
Is there...war in Kansas?
[It seems like the best reason Katherine can think of that things would be so bad with the awkwardness that Mary tells it with.]
no subject
[Hunters fighting monsters and vice versa...there was war everywhere, just not the traditional kind that Katherine was probably asking about. Going silent, she took a few more drinks of beer, unsure of how to continue. This girl didn't need to know anything, she could stay ignorant to just how dangerous things could be in her world. Taking a deep drink, she turned to look at Katherine after setting her glass back on the table.]
There was a man in my baby's room.
no subject
Oh god. I'm sorry. I hope your baby will be okay.
no subject
[If nothing else, to sate her own curiosity. She still had the occasional nightmare, but...she knew that her boys were okay. They were here and alive, whatever the demon put them through, they survived.]
no subject
[Katherine looks a bit bewildered, how callous of Mary to abandon her son so she can go drinking! She hadn't struck Katherine as that sort of woman at all, but drink did drive many people to madness.]
no subject
[She doesn't realize just how it sounds, unfortunately.]
I'm not sure where though or I'd introduce you.
