[the video is dark when it comes on, but Lucy can be seen crouched in a dark corner of the resturant kitchen, obviously struggling to remain calm, but trying none the less]

Is there anyone close to where I am? I'm in the resturant kitchen and I'd rather not move out on my own. If anyone is close by can we meet up?

[He's keeping his voice down - it's dead quiet, wherever he is, besides that and the sound of rain outside.]

Is there anyone still in the visitor's center area that's trapped or in need of help?

And do we have anyone willing to volunteer to help get people to the boats?

It might be a day or two getting out there depending on how much trouble is between here and there, but if we can get small groups and the people who can fend things off help those who can't, we should be able to at least minimize the damage...

[The six year old on screen is grumpy, but that's hardly a novel thing right now, is it?]

Right. So. We'll be stuck like this a whole week again?

Brilliant.

[It's actually not too difficult to make her way through the manor even with the bizarre trick of the sunlight. It helped that others had made most of the mistakes she could have made, and no one was interested in setting up traps they themselves could fall into.

It was probably too easy, unfortunately, because she wasn't as on-guard as she could have been. If she were being more careful, she'd never have walked down a hallway lined with windows in the first place, shades or no. If she'd been paying more attention she might have identified the creaking sound before the shade nearest to her crashed to the ground and dumped in sunlight.

And every other one in the hall way.

As it was she only just managed to scramble back--and then forward--out of the direct sunlight and into the patch of sunlight between two windows without doing something embarrassing. Like shrieking.

She sighed in frustration, and slid down to the ground, pulling out her blackberry.]

...Entertain me.

[Because there was no way she was walking the hallway--short as it might have been--until the sun set.]

[Traveling with the Doctor, it is all but a physical impossibility to experience a truly boring or dull day. One would think, throughout the universe, there were boring days aplenty...but in Rose's experience, the TARDIS seemed only to zoom in on the really interesting ones.

Torchwood is proof that's exactly what the TARDIS did, because it is
fully capable of mind-numbingly boring days, and even as a field agent there are days full of nothing but paperwork.

Today is not one of the boring days. There are rifts erupting all over London and swallowing groups of people, and no one can quite pinpoint why. One of the scientists holed up in the lab has a theory, though, and that's why she's out today instead of at the Tower trying to find answers. There's a disturbance in a part of the city that the tech thinks is the prelude to a rift, and they want devices monitoring it. She's volunteered to be the one to do it just to get a look at the rift to see if she can suss it out.

...Unfortunately, the estimation of the Torchwood scientist is off. The rift, when it opens is right on top of where she's stationed across the street. She's just able to radio for help and glimpse the dark maw of the rift's innards before everything cuts out.

And she awakes with a start in a bed that's certainly not her own. She's still dressed properly, so the disorientation doesn't last too long. It's clear that
somehow the rift has connected her to another point in space--or another point in time, but she's hoping it's just space at this point.

If that's so, that meant that the other people who vanished might have been brought here too...and if someone's behind this, they might just be around here as well. So, with a brief glance about the room she's in and a note to come back and explore it later, she makes her way out to explore the rest of the house and find anyone else who might have been swept up by the rogue rifts.]

...Soma, about that chat I was asking for? Can we have it in my room? [Tris's voice sounds... ragged at best, and rather like she's trying to keep control of her tone and failing.]

*Heiji opened the door to his bedroom and took two steps in before realizing something was seriously wrong. His room was never clean, for one, and even with that fact there was a lot of stuff missing from his desk and walls.

Confused, the detective turned and peered back into the hall to ask his mom if she did something while he was in the shower, but what he saw stopped him short. This wasn't the hallway he'd just left. Too many doors.*

What's goin' on?

*Intent on getting to the bottom of this, Heiji decided to explore, hoping to find someone around who could explain where he was and what the hell happened to him.*

[A pale, blonde woman sits up on a bed. She looks beside her, then her head snaps up and she looks around the room. There’s a nasty bruise on her right cheek.]

…Harry?

[Her voice is shaking a little. She cautiously climbs off of the bed and slowly steps around the room, inspecting it with a wary eye.]

Hello?

Anyone? ….

[she goes back and sits on the bed, her hands clasped in her lap, and she stares ahead blankly as she entwines her fingers, obviously anxious]

[There's a rushing sound as Ed zooms around the halls, sometimes gliding, sometimes running, sometimes aided by a spinning ball of air, she's getting the hang of airbending and now she's never going to just walk anywhere again. Unfortunately she's also still chicken pocked and also unfortunately she's leaving a trail of destruction as her bending is occasionally lacking and a free wind knocks over a vase, tears a picture off the wall, spills the contents of a garbage can, or causes a dusty tornado.]

You. Why'd you give me that? Is this your idea of a joke? Because I sure as Hell am not laughing. I'm not touching that thing until I have proof it's not alien surveillance tech or some kind of weapon. Trying to weed out the worst of humanity, or whatever you called me? Give me one good reason why I shouldn't detonate this one too?

((OOC: The Doctor gave Mello a Christmas present, despite the fact they haven't exactly gotten along in the past. And Mello being a completely sane and rational human being immediately assumes the Doctor is out to get him. The "too" refers to the fact that Mello blew up the empty box Light gave him, without opening it, of course.]]

[Saguru is sitting out in a common area of the Tardis with a cup of tea.]

[It's not exactly hot anymore; he's been sipping on it and doing a lot of sitting staring at a point in the table, thinking.]

[At least his humility lesson only came at the expense of his dignity; he was used to losing that, and it recovered fast.]

[Remus manages to turn the video on correctly this time, and he's even got it right-side up. The feed is shaky as he holds it, however.

He's kneeling in a bare room - his room. Strangely, there are no tribbles on him. When the feed jars as he lays the blackberry on the ground, however, you can see where all the tribbles have gone: they're under his bed. Or at least trying to be under his bed. They're congregated just under the bed's wooden frame, and pushing each other to move further in. For some reason, though, they can't. There's no visible barrier, but none of them seem to be moving forward -

and then they're out of sight again. Remus looks curiously into the camera.]

Er, look, everyone, I'm sorry to be bothering you all, but I have a question that I want everyone to hear. It took me a while to decide to do it this way, but I think it's important...

Er. I was just wondering... if we're in a story controlled by an author, how do we know that the author isn't controlling us, as well? I mean, our thoughts and actions and such.

Er. That's it. Thanks for listening.

[There's an awkward pause, and then he brings his hand up to the blackberry, shutting the feed off.]

...So, kidnapped, again. Great.

What is it with people in my family being kidnapped? [That is how the feed starts, the ten year old fiddling with the black berry until she notices that is on. She shifts it upwards so it has a clear view of her unamused expression.]

Is anyone out there? I'd sort of like some sort of answer to why and where I am. Along with an answer as to why my walls are crying. Its kind of annoying.

[The Plot Bunny does his usual thing]

Okay, okay, look, I'm sorry I'm late I just uh...

[He didn't want to have to deal with ghosts. He's looking around anxiously for anything out of the ordinary]

wasn't feeling good.

[His nose is twitching faster than usual and his ears are standing straight up, twitching towards even the slightest sound.]

Right. Not feeling good. So, uh, let's just get down to business.

[Chews open the envelope, but he doesn't eat the paper he pulls free.]

Right, *ahem* "Booo! It's October so you know what that means! Halloween is in teh air!! The Manor is all decked out and as a special Halloween celebration gift the entire month will be filled with spooky plots! This time everybody's getting a specal visit from somebody who died in their past. Enjoy!!"

[As usual he pronounces the misspellings.]

Right, if you guys don't have any questions I am out of here.

[Amy is standing in the foyer poking her ghost. If any of the members of badfic were in her universe a few years back, you may recognize said ghost as a cyberman ghost. Sorry, Doctor. That just might be you.]

[But she's still attempting to poke it.] Oi, you... ghosty thing. Stop following me!
[identity profile] fairytaleamelia.livejournal.com
[It was dark and it was cold. Amy was not happy. How did she get herself into this mess and where in the hell was the Doctor? She didn't like this. It was bad enough being stuck in a manor, but now there was snow and she was bloody freezing.]

[She's going to attempt to head towards -- somewhere. But everything seemed so barren and empty and so, so lonely.]

Doctor? Doctor! Anyone?!
[identity profile] radical-edward0.livejournal.com
[Someone's enjoying the snow. Ed's bundled up but she's building a snow fort. She's singing to herself if you can hear her over the snow and the chattering of her own teeth.]

Snow's here! Snow's here! All clear! Snow's here! Have cheer! Not fear! EveryONE's happy when snow's heeeeeeere!!!
